We are a family business with agents whose roots in the community are deep. Our faith in God and Jesus Christ, His Son and our Savior, is our guide as we work to be the best we can be in everything that we undertake.
Our Staff
Chris Kannel – Owner/Agent
Chris joined the agency in 2010. He is the third generation of his family in the agency and handles new business inquiries for personal and business insurance. Chris is a licensed resident agent in Ohio and is also licensed in Indiana and Michigan. He lives in Montpelier with his wife Michelle and three young children.
Susan Kannel – Agent/Office Manager
Sue has been with the agency since 1987. In addition to specializing in life, she is responsible for office management and promotions for the agency.
Lisa Branham – Agent/Customer Service Representative
Lisa has been with the agency since 1978. She coordinates new and existing business and renewals for the agency. In addition, she is responsible for quality assurance.
Angela Fritsch – Agent/Customer Service Representative
Angela started with Kannel Insurance in 2020. She reviews personal insurance renewals and provides support for new business efforts.
Cecelia Fox – Finance Manager
Cecelia started in 2021. She is responsible for billing and finances for the agency.
Michael Kannel – 2nd Generation
Mike joined the agency in 1972 and became president in 1988. He retired in 2014 and entered heaven’s gates in June 2022. Mike’s legacy lives on in the personal service that we provide every day.
Ira “Smitty” Kannel – Agency Founder
We continue Ira’s legacy. Ira, who founded the agency in 1958, entered heaven’s gates in July 2019.
